APPRENTICE TECHNICIAN / MECHANIC

We are currently looking to recruit a new Apprentice for our workshop.  This is a rare opportunity for a position that will train you in all the relevant skills to achieve a highly recognised qualification covering both Mechanical and Electrical training.  You will have the opportunity to learn from our skilled Ford & Mazda technicians as well as through college training.

Applicants must be willing to travel to the mainland to attend various college sessions throughout the first 3 years.

The apprenticeship will last 4 years.  Upon successful completion, this will turn into a permanent full-time position with the opportunity to further your learning in specialist training to become a Master Technician.

Applicants must be friendly, dedicated and show a commitment to learning.  No experience is required as training will be given on the job and through college sessions.

SERVICE ADVISOR

 

A rare opportunity in the motor trade.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and confident individual to join our
friendly and busy team. This is a busy and varied role and gives
experience in many different areas of the business. You must have
the ability to communicate clearly with customers and staff ensuring
expectations are met by providing a first class service.
Jim’s Garage Ford and Mazda are dedicated to an excellent standard of
customer service. All applicants must be honest, friendly, keen to help,
and build positive relationships with our customers.

Experience in administration would be beneficial.
Experience in the Motor Industry would be beneficial although training
can be provided if needed. Experience with computerised accounts
systems would also be beneficial.
Some of the main duties will include (but not limited to) –

 

• Answering telephones
• Booking Workshop Appointments
• Customer Invoicing and Payments
• Liasing between customers and the service team
• Ensuring correct completion of job cards
• Providing Customer Estimates
• Calculate Charges for all parts, labour and service repairs
• Maintain records of all service job documentation
• Updating customers on job progress
• Follow up courtesy calls to customers
• Ensure accurate documentation for warranty work in line
with policies
• Warranty Administration / Documentation

 

We offer a large commitment to the training and development of our
employees, there will be the opportunity to complete training via
elearning and also by attending courses on the mainland with both
Ford & Mazda to keep up with warranty and administration procedures.

Hours of work would ideally be 8.00am to 1pm and 2pm to 5.30pm,
however, 9am start – 5pm finish could suit if necessary, please indicate
clearly on your application.

Salary will be based on experience.
