We are delighted to inform you that our Sales, Service and Parts departments have now reopened, but with limited numbers of staff. Please note that access is restricted to 1 customer inside the premises at a time. Instructions regarding safety and hygiene measures must be read when entering the building.
The sales department is now open with limited staff. It is important for our staff and customers to follow social distancing rules and we have put many things in place for this onsite. If you want to arrange an appointment, in the first instance please call us on 01595 695777 and our staff member will happily advise. We can now do many things remotely and we also have live chat available on our website at www.jimsgarageford.co.uk . Hand sanitiser is available onsite and vehicles are regularly cleaned with antibacterial cleanser.
Service and Parts-
Our parts and service department have now reopened. However, we are operating with a limited number of staff so as to keep with the social distancing measures we have in place.
Would any customers visiting the garage please observe the social distancing measures in place, maintaining a 2m distance from staff and other customers. We have hand sanitiser available and work surfaces and door handles are frequently wiped down.
Staff are wearing gloves and wiping down surfaces in vehicles that we have been in contact with.

It is without doubt that this is the most difficult and challenging time that we have faced together. The health, safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers has always been our highest priority and as a result, we issue this information to you with that as our main focus.
In light of the new measures brought out by the UK government, we have put into place some actions so as to abide by these new rules and to put the health, safety and well-being of all, first.
We shall only be offering staffed fuel during the day between 0800hrs and 1700hrs until Friday 27th March at 5pm at which point we will temporarily closing our staffed fuel service for a minimum of 3 weeks. Fuel will only be available through the self-service 24 hour fuel pump. Please follow government guidelines on hygiene and sanitisation using the fuel pump. You will only be able to use bank cards and arval/all star chip and pin cards on the self service payment terminal.
Our Sales Department will close Wednesday 25th March at 5pm. All customer sales will be suspended for a minimum of 3 weeks, as advised by the government. Any questions or issues relating to sales can be directed to our email address firstname.lastname@example.org the mailbox will be monitored regularly and we will respond as soon as possible. All other areas of our business shall close on Friday 27th March at 5pm including staffed fuel. Fuel will only be available through the self-service 24 hour fuel pump. Please follow government guidelines on hygiene and sanitisation using the fuel pump.
Again, this will be for a minimum of 3 weeks.
We are still available for emergency work. This will be prioritised to those working in key positions, for example, NHS Workers, Social Care Workers, Police, Fire services etc. Details of how to contact us are below.

IN AN EMERGENCY-
Vehicle Off Road / Breakdown / Tyre Punctures with no spare wheel – In the first instance, contact your roadside assistance company if you have membership with a roadside assistance provider such as AA/RAC.
If you do not have roadside assistance, call us on 01595 695202 and select option 1 for recovery.
The Government has issued an automatic 6 month extension to MOT’s from 30/03/20
Any vehicle that has an MOT expiring after the date will not need an MOT until 6 months after their current MOT expires. If you still need an MOT, we will record your details and try an arrange an MOT slot with an on call MOT tester, these will be prioritised for NHS, and those involved in distribution of Food & Medical supplies and other essential industries. The health and welfare of our customers and staff are extremely important to us. We would like to reassure our customers during these uncertain days, that we have implemented the following measures to reduce the risk of infections while still providing our customers with good service.
– We have increased the cleaning of public contact points including door handles, counters and card machines
– Hand sanitizer is available at all desks
– Our technicians are wearing gloves before they get in customers vehicles, using seat covers and cleaning vehicle handles, steering wheels etc when finished
Our fuel pumps, pump handles and office are regularly cleaned throughout the day using disinfectant. Disposable gloves are available onsite. Remember that we always offer to put the fuel in for you. If a staff member has not noticed you are there, please do a quick press on the horn of your vehicle and they will put the fuel in for you. If taking up to £30 of fuel, you can pay via contactless. Our staff clean and disinfect the card reader in our office after every customer payment. Our staff also use a new pair of disposable gloves for serving every customer. In the fuel office, we also have hand sanitizer available for customer use.
Onsite we have hand sanitizer available for customer use. The door handles and customer contact points are regularly disinfected and cleaned. We are aware that customers on finance agreements may be due to change their vehicle. Much of this can be done by telephone, email or live chat with our sales staff. While your vehicle is in beside us for work, our staff use disposable gloves and sanitizer. Gloves are changed frequently and for every customer.
